Climate Change is the defining issue of our time and we are at a defining moment. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly. Straight Talk has invited three industry experts to participate in "Climate Change - On Your Doorstep" to generate a well rounded, informative and educational discussion to help us understand what can and should be done about climate change. We have created this 'Together For Climate' group & website to outline action we can take individually and together. We support the youth and adults around the world demanding climate action, clean energy jobs and system change. More about our group here.
With the most recent 2018 IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report, it is clear the world needs to act now to start reducing GHG emissions to avoid significant changes to the planet which will impact future generations. Together for Climate was inspired by Greta Thunberg's Fridays For Future movement for global climate strikes. Greta's movement is calling on everyone to 'Unite behind the science' and join strikes every Friday.
There are things you can do in your life which can help day to day, making you part of the solution. From not flying or driving as much, to changing your diet, investing in clean energy and curbing spending habits. View the Individual Action page for more ideas and resources.
As MANY we can do alot! Take action and spread the word on why climate needs action NOW. From sigining petitions, talking to your friends and family and joining protests in your town.
Now that the federal election is over, we can keep pushing for strong climate action. Please see our Together Action page on how to take direct action.
Climate Grief and Eco-Anxiety are real health issues and support is growing for those that are worried about the climate and the effects it has now and will have in the future.
Also it can be difficult speaking to kids on the climate crisis, we have listed some resources on our Health Support page. We will continue to develop this page as we learn of new resources.

Together for Climate was formed by North Simcoe parents concerned about the climate crisis. Our Facebook group Together For Climate is our local hub for residents where we can share information, talk about climate issues and share ways to take action.
